Snowboard Holiday Morzine
Snowboard Holiday Morzine – The Portes du Soleil Snowboard HolidaysThe Portes Du Soleil, or Gateway to the Sun, is the largest linked snowboard area in the world, and is made up of 14 resorts across the French and Swiss Alps. It boasts some 650 km of piste in the winter and needs to be snowboarded to be believed. To take full advantage of the Portes du Soleil you can book all your extras online directly with us and we’ll make sure you’re up and snowboarding in as short a time as possible. All of our online prices are exactly the same as those you’d pay in-resort.
Climbing from 1000 to 2466m, between France and Switzerland, its 208 ski lifts will take you up to the 8 snowparks, 243km of cross country tracks and 650km of marked pistes that interconnect the 14 resorts ... all accessible with a single ski pass! Even though parts of the snowboard area sit at a moderate altitude, it's northern situation (the most Northern in France) means that it often gets better snow than most other French resorts which are much higher. This factor along with the abundance of North facing slopes, means the snow lasts well into May! A common myth to be despelled is that low level resorts do not offer great snow conditions... the Portes du Soleil offers fantastic snowboarding from mid-December all the way through to the end of April.!
Depending on your snowboard-level, mood, the weather, the time available, the possibilities are infinite and a week is not enough to get to know every hidden corner. You can choose a route for its exceptional views over Mont Blanc (Morzine, Chamossiere, Mont-Chery...) or lake Geneva (Super Chatel, Torgon), ski on the Swiss side in order to examine the Dents du Midi from every angle; or opt for a day trying out new culinary treats by ensuring that gastronomic addresses are on your route.
Guest Comment: I've skied all over the world, and I'm so glad to have stumbled on the Portes Du Soleil and Morzine... the rest of my skiing years are here. See you next year! – M. Adams

Snowboarding Holidays in MorzineThe Portes de Soleil was the first area to recognise Snowboarding as a proper winter sport and put in one of the first parks in Europe. Since then it has gone out of its way to provide some of the best parks around and produce some of the worlds best riders who frequent them.
The off-piste throughout the area offers inumerable opportunities to get fresh tracks even after days of no snow.
For the snowboarders, there are 9 snowboard parks, each of them offering something different, and kitted with jumps for all standards. There is also a couple of half-pipes and a beginners park.

This is what they said: 'The largest internationally-linked ski area in the world is also Document Snowboard magazine's Ski Area of the Year, and it's not purely down to size. It's true that there are more than 600km of pistes and 270 lifts spread over 14 French and Swiss resorts - impressive enough stats in anybody's language - but there's much more to this area than numbers alone. Avoriaz has been a Mecca for snowboarding since the sport's introduction and is home to Europe's longest established snowboard park, while the trees at Les Lindarets are a must ride when the weather sets in and Les Crosets, on the Swiss side, has another of the best parks in Europe. Morzine, the main town in the area, is less than an hour by road from Geneva, which means that the Portes du Soleil is ideally situated for weekend, week-long or even seasonal visitors - it's no wonder that such a large number of UK pro riders are making the area their home from home this winter.
