Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for creative people for this winter season 2007/2008 from December to April. Applicants must have excellent guest relations and interpersonal skills and be prepared to work as part of a team. You must have an outgoing personality and be dynamic, motivated, organised, reliable and hardworking to make up the team for Morzine Lets, The Ridge and Les Rhodos Hotels in Morzine, France. You will have to be available from the beginning of December to April (Dates are different for each job and will be confirmed at time of interview).

We require all of our staff to be flexible in the nature of their job. During the season it may be necessary to move staff into different positions at certain busy periods.

About Us

Morzine Lets is a British company that operates solely from the popular resort of Morzine in the Portes du Soleil area of France. We have two hotels, The Ridge and Les Rhodos and we also provide a total on and off line property rental service for both owners and for private and corporate clients wanting to stay in Morzine winter and summer. We are still a small and much personalised company. The Secret to our success is the attention we pay to every detail and we pride ourselves on treating each guest as an individual and we are uncompromising in our aim to set high standards.

For property owners Morzine Lets allows full control of their property using a secure back office area which allows them to add, edit and generally manage their property pricing, availability and appearance on the site. Once registered as a property owner Morzine Lets will manage the complete rental process including regularly cleaning the property, supplying all rental extras, arranging transfers for guests, local liaison and the collection of rental fees.

For visitors, Morzine Lets enables a simple search and book solution for all holiday requirements. As well as the accommodation this can include airport transfers and local travel, restaurant bookings, ski hire, ski school, lift passes and ski guide bookings, rafting, quad biking, parapenting etc.

Positions Available

Hotel Manager - The Ridge Hotel

We are looking for a Hotel Manager for our modern hotel in Morzine. Applicants must be bilingual in French and English, and have a minimum of 5 years experience in the industry. You must have excellent customer care and management skills, be computer literate and have a good knowledge of accounting. You will be responsible for training the Bar, Waiting staff and Housekeepers to a very high standard and maintaining those standards throughout the season. You will also be responsible for the kitchen staff and restaurant. You must have plenty of energy and be prepared to work six days a week.

You must hold a British / EU passport.

Head Chefs

We are looking for Head Chefs in both of our busy hotels. Applicants should be creative, hardworking, have lots of stamina and be capable of managing a kitchen team. You must have professional experience (5 years minimum) cooking for large numbers as well as a relevant qualification. You will be producing great food whilst working to a budget, be responsible for all the ordering for the kitchen and take full responsibility for maintaining kitchen hygiene and cleaning standards. The hotels offer breakfast, lunch, evening meals and bar snacks. You will need to be prepared to work 6 days a week. We will ask you to produce a 6-day menu plan with your application so that we can assess your creativity and ideas. A basic knowledge of French would be an advantage as you will be dealing with French suppliers. Applicants must hold full clean driving licence.

Sous Chefs

We are looking for Sous Chefs in both our busy hotels. Applicants must have relevant experience (minimum 3 years) cooking for large numbers. You must be capable of filling the position of Head Chef on his / her nights off and maintaining the same high standards.

Comis Chefs / Plongeurs

General duties include washing up, keeping the kitchen clean and assisting with any food preparation under the guidance of the Head Chef. You will also be expected to help with the service of breakfast, lunch, evening meals and bar snacks. We will be looking for applicants who are very hardworking and reliable.

You must hold a British / EU passport.

DJ - Entertainment Staff

We are looking for a DJ that can play a wide range of music to suit all tastes. You will play in our bars fro Apres Ski and Evening sessions. You will need previous experience promoting events. The perfect candidate will have great enthusiasm and have their own ideas on how to promote our bars.

You must hold a British / EU passport.

Bar / Waiting staff

We are looking for confident, enthusiastic Bar and Waiting staff with plenty of personality to work in The Ridge and Les Rhodos Hotel bars and restaurants. You will be responsible for creating an inviting atmosphere for our guests. A good history of bar experience and a sound knowledge of bar working practises are needed. Cocktail / flare bar staff will be considered first. Usual bar duties including cash handling, restocking, maintaining high levels of cleanliness and helping to ensure the bars run smoothly and efficiently. You must have knowledge of computers, be well presented and have an outgoing personality.

For the Ridge Hotel conversational French would be an advantage, for Les Rhodos you must be bilingual in English and French.

Ski Shop Manager

We have our own ski & snowboard rental shop in Morzine. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of customer service, training staff in the use of WinterSteiger servicing equipment, stock control, accounts reporting at the end of each day, liasing with chalet companies, increasing our customer base and keeping the shop clean and operational.

The ideal candidate will be flexible in their time and must be willing to organise the initial setup of the ski shop in December.

You must hold a British / EU passport.

Ski Technicians

Previous experience working in a ski shop is preferred but training can be given. A good knowledge of technical aspects surrounding skis and snowboards is a must.

Drivers - Airport Transfers

For this position the main responsibility will be airport transfers for Morzine to Geneva . You will also be expected to drive guests to and from various locations within the resort and to take responsibility for vehicle maintenance and cleanliness. Candidates need to be responsible, conscientious and have excellent customer service skills. Experience of driving a minibus is essential. A basic knowledge of French would be an advantage. Applicants must hold full clean driving licence with a minimum 5 years driving experience.

Housekeepers

This is a very important role, it’s about keeping very high standards and working as part of a team. You will be responsible for the cleanliness, hygiene and appearance of our properties with attention to detail. We will be looking for people who are very hardworking and reliable. Duties include linen change, cleaning bedrooms, public areas, apartments and chalets. A basic knowledge of French would be an advantage but is not essential.

General Handyman

Responsible for day to day maintenance of properties and hotels. You must have skills in all areas of general maintenance - electricity, plumbing, carpentry, metal work, etc. You will also be responsible for clearing snow. The candidate must be flexible and willing to work all hours as you will be on emergency callout.

Requirements

Nanny

We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic fun loving nanny who is flexible and outgoing. Working with just two children, one girl aged five and one boy aged fourteen. Your duties will also include washing, cleaning and ironing when the children are at school. You must have a loving personality and enjoy working with children. Plenty of time to enjoy the mountains this winter. Conversational French would be an advantage.
